A sample (Collection 004) MOD08_E3 (Eight Day Global) HDF file (788 MB) is available for download.
This file was generated from MODIS data collected on January 9-16, 2004 from the Terra platform.
The sample HDF data file can be used to familiarize yourself with the data format
and/or as input to MODIS visualization and analysis software on your local platform.

Ordering Collection 005 MODIS Data
The Collection 005 Terra and Aqua MODIS data are available from LAADS.
As of August 2006, all of the Collection 005 Aqua data stream is available, but only selected days from 2005 and 2006 are available for Terra.
It is expected that all of the Collection 005 Terra data stream will be available by late Fall 2006.
Note that older Collection 004 data can be ordered from the site noted below.
These older Collection 004 data sets will be phased out this year as LAADS reprocesses all the data to Collection 005.
Ordering Collection 004 MODIS Data
This MODIS data ordering system is for Collection 004 data only.
This system gives the user convenient means to simultaneously order several MODIS Data Sets, including Geolocation.
This system also works well for single products.
Note that these older Collection 004 data sets will be phased out late in 2006 as LAADS (see above)
reprocesses all MODIS data to Collection 005.
